I have loved being a mother and grandmother. Being able to receive this gift from Heaven has been one of my greatest joys in life. My daughter told me the other day that my little Nova was so excited to be at my place when she is sad. She said that Nana loves when I cry! She loves it because she loves making me happy. At first we were all a little confused, but the more I thought about it, the more truth I recognized. I love to go find my little ones when they run hiding in the bedroom, slamming the door angry at the world. I love gently touching their head and feeling them crawl up into my arms while I hold them close. I love the way they snuggle into my shoulder and allow me to feel their heartbeat against mine. I love helping them find that quiet space inside of themselves and become centered again. I love being vulnerable and allowing them into my heart.
I have been blessed with exceeding joy in my lifetime and an abundance that I try never to take for granted. I have also had my share of challenges, that I pray I have faced with love and perseverance. I am far from perfect and so I am certain that there have been times when I have fallen far short.
We moved to Utah this last time when my youngest daughter was going to be a senior. A new place, new friends, and a new High School. After high school she decided she wanted to be a nanny for a year. She loves children almost as much as I do and I fully supported her. I always wanted to be in Young Women's with my two older daughters, but was never given the opportunity, something that always made me sad. When they put me in, and I was able to go to girls camp I was so excited. What I was not prepared for were the lessons that I had to sit through on Sunday.
Every other lesson was on Chastity. All I heard was, boys are yucky, stay away from boys, now go get married and have babies. It's no wonder our kids are so confused.
A friend pointed out several quotes to me the other day, the level of vulgarity and falseness spoke to me, and not in a good way.
I cannot express how repulsive I find these quotes to be from our so called "Spiritual Leaders"
Would you like to know what a youth's most precious possession is? It is their knowledge that they are loved, without reservation. That it is not based on performance or their actions. That they are loved because they are a son or daughter of God. Period. Who in their right mind would tell someone that they would be better off dead than having an earthy experience, which by the way is why the hell we are all on this planet in the first place. Heaven forbid, we actually have a mortal experience and exercise our agency. After doing some research I came across some quotes that were given to the adults who seem to be just as messed up as the youth. I remember hearing about my parents going in for their temple recommend interviews. My dad got up and walked out. Apparently the Stake leaders had been advised that some of the questions could be changed, and they wanted specifics about their activities in the bedroom. Can you say Unrighteous Dominion?? When I heard about this years later, I was so damn proud of my father for walking out.
There is a book that I detest. It was very popular not so long ago, and many families had a copy. Most bishops gave reading assignments out of it if anyone happened to gain the courage to go and speak with them about personal challenges that they might be facing. This book does nothing to lead anyone on the path of actual forgiveness, and in fact does the opposite while bolstering the negative energies of Guilt and Shame...two of the lowest vibrations in the Universe.
There were many that judged during this time. She was worried that her father would kick her out. That her siblings would judge her, that she would never be able to move past this and be happy. This was not the case, and we are better and stronger and more loving and forgiving because we refused to listen to those that profess to know best. We loved each other through this a day at a time.
This is my joy, and two of these little miracles are the result. The Lord blessed her with two beautiful perfect little spirits, that I love with all my heart. I would not change a thing.
It's time to stop using guilt and fear as a control method. It does not work. Anytime I hear even a hint of guilt and fear, I know from where it comes, and it is not from God. If you are using these modalities to gain control you may want to check yourself. You are not of the light.
You will never convince me that the loving Father and Mother in Heaven that I know would ever use guilt, fear and coercion. That is not how the heavens operate. They operate on love, and acceptance, and yes consequences. But most of all, always with Sovereignty. They love it when they can come and find us, raising us up and helping us heal and become whole. Showing us what our divine potential truly looks like.
Ask them to show you....you might like what you see. I promise you with a sure knowledge, that there will be no guilt or shame, only love. Time to release these lower level vibrations and climb. It is past time.
