Well Christmas has come and gone. Is this year flying past or what? Seems like the older I get, the faster things get. Nicole & Kelsey came home for the Christmas break and have been fun to have around. Kelsey has decided that she wants to transfer to BYU-I in the spring so will be home until then, looking for a job, and transportation to get there! Looks like I might be running a taxi service again.
We had a very nice, quiet christmas, played games, stayed home and had a good meal. Every year I tell the kids we are going to have a small christmas. They never believe me, but this year it really was small. Small is good. I think it should become a tradition.
Today I went to the Temple with Kris to help in the kitchen. She has been doing it forever, and I am just a fill in for her mother who is out of town. We arrived about 15 minutes early (it is amazing how much faster you can drive without snow!!) and asked what was needed to do, and they said there was a group of about 40 coming for breakfast in about 20 minutes.
I almost walked upstairs and did a session. Not really. It is fun to see people come through the cafateria. They are always so happy and just glad to be there, where else could you find this at 8:00 in the morning?
Curt took all three girls and went skiing. He found a family pass on Craig's list to Tamarack for an amazing price (about the same as 1 season pass - merry christmas to Curt!) so they went to play today. Colton still has an aweful barking cough, so we get to stay inside and veg. New Years is right around the corner and then back to our regularly scheduled program, I hope!

We gave sugar cookies to some of our neighbors this year, and they all wanted the recipe, so here it is. These back up really soft and puffy, not your regular flat sugar cookie. Yummy!
2 C Sugar
1 C butter, softened
4 eggs
1 C sour Cream
5-6 C flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp B Powder
1 tsp B Soda
1 C butter, softened
4 eggs
1 C sour Cream
5-6 C flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp B Powder
1 tsp B Soda
Cream together sugar, butter. eggs, and sour cream. Combine all dry ingredients except for 1 C flour. Mix well adding in last cup of flour until it pulls away from sides or bowl. This dough is very sticky! Chill for 1/2 hour or overnight. Roll in enough flour to prevent sticking to about 1/4 inch. Cut into shapes and cook at 400 degrees for 5-6 mnutes. They will spring back when lightly touched when done.
